Having lived in the SF Bay area while studying at the University of California, Berkeley, I am impressed with the detail and character development in your historical fiction series. Hope you can continue writing these stories for many more years!

Interesting seeing the stats as I add mine. The most surprising to me is that more of your readers don't read your science fiction. Personally, I think it is some of the best out there. Sci Fi is such a broad category and I have found it very difficult finding authors I like. I've read everything published in the Caelestis (sp?) series and am sad there is not more. I think it is a wonderful world with a lot of possibilities, as you have shown.

Sheryl, part of the issue might be that my newsletter subscribers came mostly from being fans of the mystery series and signing up over the years before I had published any science fiction.

Because of cost and ease of carrying, I mostly use my Kindle. But some authors I get both paper and ebook--because I have their earlier books originally in paper and I like to keep getting them in paper, but it is much easier to carry in the Kindle. Examples (most recently bought in both formats) Mercedes Lackey, Julie Czerneda, Patty Briggs, David Weber (note big Fat Large books), John Ringo, etc. Most are Science fiction. But I read a lot of different genres. I started your books as ebooks, so will continue getting them in such format.

I used to buy print, even hardback of favorite, but then found ebook on Kindle so much easier (for eyesight, lack of dust, easier to hold) and eventually got rid of most of my print except for research books for my mysteries.

I love love love your Caelestis series! They are right up there with the Pern series, IMO, and although you feel the need to finish it, I'll miss reading about any new adventures in that world, or even beyond...

I need to achieve closure with Mei Lin and that story line, and get back to the historical for the next year, but I will continue to explore the possible stories in the Paradisi universe. I definitely plan on finishing and publishing the sequel to the Stars are Red tonight about the origins of the Kuttner family...hopefully as soon as I finish the next historical mystery. In fact I'm putting in a few plot points in the book I am writing now that will lead to that story. And I suspect that some shorter works on characters from the Caelestis series would be fun to write...like completing story of Tesni and Tegwyn, or expanding on the character in my short story, Awelwyd, Kammie. So many ideas, so little time, but it does help to know that there are those of you waiting for those stories!

I started following you long ago because you wrote about the business side of marketing your books as an indie author. While I have enjoyed all your historical writing, I was surprised to find that I like your science fiction even more. Your characters in the Caelestis series feel freer, less constrained by historical facts, and the storytelling flows beautifully. I look forward to the final book of the series.

Thanks for your kind words, I love to hear when someone came to my science fiction series through the historical series.

I read both your Historical and science fiction because your Sci Fi to me is Historical in a sense.

I can see that, the world building is very similar, only less constrained by reality in the science fiction!
