Dear Reader,

March roared in rather like a lion here in San Diego, with much needed rain. Yesterday we even got a double rainbow.

I am also glad to report that my health has taken a turn to the better, and for the past couple of weeks I’ve been able to slowly build up my stamina with ever longer walks. This has been good for not just my health but my emotional well-being…certainly something I needed in this time of turmoil.

The plot development of my new short story about Mr. Wong is progressing well, and I hope to be able to report I have actually started writing the first draft by next month’s newsletter. For this story I am re-introducing a number of characters from Maids of Misfortune, my very first book in the Victorian San Francisco mystery series. Since I plan to give a number of these characters roles in the full-length novel that I have been doing research for, this is a fun way for me, and readers, to get reacquainted with them.

Meanwhile, I am continuing to put up my already published short stories, for free, in my daily newsletter. This month the story is the short story, Dandy’s Discovery. I started out with two posts one about pet dogs and one about cats in the Victorian era. Do check them out.
